The following list includes some answers to frequently asked questions. If you do not find the answer to your
question on this page, please send an e-mail to
the SourceActionTM Support Team or visit the feedback page.
Q: How secure is SourceActionTM? Are my products' bugs safe from prying eyes?
A: We have spent a lot of programming resources on SourceAction's security
model. Each
company's data is completely protected from other users who do not
belong to that company. In addition, the SourceActionTM server is protected by a VeriSign
Digital ID which provides 40-bit encryption for all data transfers.
Q: Could SourceActionTM crash my computer?
A: The application uses what is called "thin-client" technology.
This means that almost all of the processing happens on the server. The browser
that you use to access and work with SourceActionTM works as it does on any other web site.
This means that it is extremely unlikely that SourceActionTM will cause any problems with your computer.
It is, however, possible that the application may cause your browser to freeze. If this happens,
use your task manager to close the browser and then reopen it. At that point you should
inform us of the problem you encountered.
Q: If I find a bug, what should I do?
A: It is important for us to be able to duplicate the issue you have found.
You should immediately document and submit the issue to us. You can submit issues via e-mail,
fax, or the feedback page.
Please provide as much descriptive information as you can, including the steps
we need to take to duplicate it, the exact error message you received, and the name of the page or url you were on.
Include a screenshot if you think it would be helpful.
Q: If I think of a feature that I would like you to put into SourceAction, what
should I do?
A: We would love to hear your suggestion! Submit the enhancement request the same way you
would report a bug. We will
consider your new feature suggestion for a future release.
Q: Do I have to install anything to use SourceAction?
A: No. SourceActionTM works on a standard web browser. All commercially released versions of Netscape 4.72 through 6.2, and Internet Explorer 4.5 through 6.0 have been fully tested.
Q: I forgot my password and now I can't get into SourceActionTM. How
do I get this information?
A: On the SourceActionTM login page, there is a link called Forgot your password?. Clicking
on that link will take you to a page where you will need to complete a form with your
username, company code, and e-mail address. Your password information will be
automatically e-mailed to you, usually within minutes.
Q: I forgot my username and/or my company code. How do I get this
information?
A: For security reasons, we cannot send the company code or username information to you
via an automated e-mail process. Please contact your system administrator. If you are the
system administrator for your company, you can send an e-mail message to
the SourceActionTM Support Team. We will investigate
your request and send a manual e-mail or call you with the information.
Q: Do you have a Service Level Agreement for SourceActionTM?
A: Yes, we do. You can view it here or use the Support menu above to navigate to it.
